Light is the essential medium in my work. I use it to create vivid environments that provoke heightened sensory awareness. Through light, I make hypnotic works that induce a contemplative state in viewers. Creating this moment of stillness before my pieces is crucial to me, as I aim to transmit part of my meditative experience through them.
This medium manifests through a production that includes light objects, photography created through light-projection, videos, and immersive architectural interventions accompanied by site-specific soundscapes.
The work is organized into series that consolidate specific research interests such as the exploration of space and architecture, the notion of aura as a perceptual field of light, the romantic idea of the horizon, the cosmos, astronomy, and light understood as a unit for measuring the vast distances of the universe.
The practice is situated at the intersection of science, architecture, technology, perception, and spirituality.
Science is addressed through the necessity to engage with the physics of light and the physiology of vision to integrate optical phenomena into the works.
Architecture informs the work as the pieces and the spaces they inhabit are conceived as an integral whole where geometries are influenced by the volumetric tensions of Brutalism.
Technology is utilized through new media, electronic systems, and LED technologies that configure the internal logic of each device.
Perception is explored by investigating optical phenomena that intensify chromatic resonance within the space, allowing for the seamless integration of light, architecture, and sound.
Spirituality is invoked through pieces that propose a sensory experience akin to a liturgical ritual while the employed geometries reference the traditions of sacred art.
Ultimately, the artistic proposal articulates light, color, architecture, sound, and temporality through explorations where color expands into the space. This process envelops the viewer in a state that oscillates between the tangible and the meditative.
