Eclipses: light as a memory
It's interesting to consider the unit of measurement called light-years, which refers to the time it takes for light to travel from a celestial body to Earth. Knowing that the speed of light is 300,000 km per second, and considering that the Sun is 150,000,000 km from Earth, the light it emits takes 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach us. The second closest star to our planet, Alpha Centauri, is 4.3 light-years away, meaning that the image we see in our sky is just a fleeting glimpse of what it was like more than 4 years ago.
Therefore, it would be valid to say that the universe we see, once we turn our backs on the Sun, is a memory of what the stars were like years ago. Light brings us past memories, both those we see at night and those we perceive within ourselves when meditating, since our being is also light.
